A Kitchen in France: A Year of Cooking in My Farmhouse

With overwhelming plans and rich photography, A Kitchen in France transports you to the French open country and imprints the introduction of an enamoring new voice in cooking.

"This is genuine food: tasty, fair plans that praise the excellence of picking what is ready and in season, and catch the embodiment of life in rustic France."

At the point when Mimi Thorisson and her family moved from Paris to an unassuming community in off the beaten path Médoc, she didn't exactly have the foggiest idea what was coming up for them. She discovered brilliant fixings—from nearby ranchers and the neighboring woods—and, generally significant, chance to cook. Her cookbook narratives the family's occasional dinners and life in an old farmhouse, all captured by her better half, Oddur. Mimi's jovial plans, for example, Roast Chicken with Herbs and Crème Fraîche, Cèpe and Parsley Tartlets, Winter Vegetable Cocotte, Apple Tart with Orange Flower Water, and Salted Butter Crème Caramel—will bring the glow of rustic France into your home.

As a lover of all things French and a lover of cooking, this book is an absolute gem. Can't wait to try out these recipes. Everything looks wonderful. The photos are beautiful and is all in all a gorgeously presented cookbook.-Lucia
I'm so glad to have this unique cookbook in my vast collection. Mimi is a fantastic cook and her husband makes beautiful photos, which transfer immediately to their cosy country life with their lovely family and constantly present dogs. The recipes are well written, the canelés turned out great, as they should: crunchy outside and moist inside. This is a must for foodies and the fans of French cuisine.-Reka Ratnner
A great cookbook for learning rural French cooking. I have both Mimi's books and I by far prefer this one. I bought the second one first and bought this one for my birthday. The recipes are surprisingly simple with easily acquired ingredients for the most part. If you like chestnuts, this is the book for you. Chicken is also a great player. Some of the meat cuts, like beef cheeks are less common here, but worth seeking out at a quality butchers'.-Alexa Lee
